4 Goalies Who Will Change Teams In 2025-26

Goalies don't move around as much as players, but there are always some big deals and odd situations that come up every season. 2025-26 won't be any different and whether it's waivers or trades for one reason or another, these are four goalies who will likely change teams next season.

Nico Daws

The New Jersey Devils have Jacob Markstrom and Jake Allen signed next season, so Nico Daws is going to be hitting waivers before the season for any team to claim. He had less than ideal AHL numbers, but went 3-1-0 with a 1.60 GAA and .939 SV% in the NHL for the Devils. He is 24 years old and is ready for more NHL action, but won't find it with the Devils. Allen is signed for five years and Markstrom has one year left on his deal, but New Jersey will try to keep him and Daws won't get a chance unless there's an injury.

Joonas Korpisalo

Joonas Korpisalo isn't too happy with his situation on the Boston Bruins as he played just as well as Jeremy Swayman last season and got 24 starts to show for it. He is looking for a bigger role and won't find it in Boston. With the team wanting to have Michael DiPietro in the NHL as he's ready to graduate, Korpisalo has been in trade rumors and should be traded. His cap hit is $3 million AAV for three more years and he was good in Columbus and LA. The Bruins could also retain even more to move him.

Tristan Jarry

The Pittsburgh Penguins acquired Arturs Silovs from the Vancouver Canucks this offseason and also have Joel Blomqvist, who started a fair bit of games in the NHL last season. Both are young options that will likely be the tandem for part of next season for Pittsburgh as Tristan Jarry has been mentioned in trade rumors as the team is looking to rebuild and get younger. Jarry had a tough start to the season, but ended strong. Over his entire career, he has been solid and there will definitely be interest. It is more a matter of how much he'll cost to acquire and how much retention there will be.

Calvin Pickard

The Edmonton Oilers' clear weak point of their team has been goaltending and nothing has been done yet. The team still has Stuart Skinner and Calvin Pickard, but that could very well change this offseason as the Oilers' GM has been searching for younger options around the league and could even target someone like Jarry too. There would be little need for Pickard when a goalie change happens and he is the most likely netminder to be moved based on age and potential. He should find himself in a backup role or as a third string soon enough.
