Boston Bruins Have A Lot Of Things On The Table This Offseason

Boston Bruins
The Boston Bruins had a miserable season in 2024-25 finishing near the bottom of the standings, dealing with a lot of injuries, and losing players while the forward group in particular doesn't look good at all. There have been rumors and reports that multiple players are going to be traded, but at the end of the day, there are players on the Bruins that they cannot go into a rebuild with, such as David Pastrnak, Charlie McAvoy, and Jeremy Swayman. The team has to find a way to successfully do a quicker retooling instead.

Jeff Marek said that he wouldn't be surprised if Pavel Zacha and Casey Mittelstadt are traded and "I think a lot of things are on the table for the Boston Bruins."

The Bruins' big additions this offseason included Viktor Arvidsson, Tanner Jeannot, and Sean Kuraly. That would be fine if they all weren't slated to start in the middle-6 and Jeannot in particular be overpaid for too long. There are 11 more players projected to start in the AHL that played games for the Bruins or in the NHL last season, but more than just Zacha and Mittelstadt, there have been trade rumors surrounding Joonas Korpisalo and Fabian Lysell as well.

It will be very interesting to see if the Bruins intend on making enough changes this offseason so that the team can be more competitive, or if it'll take longer than that. I'm thinking the latter since there's too much work to do to the forward group and it may be more worthwhile to wait until the trade deadline for some moves.

The Bruins were a powerhouse for so long until it finally all came crashing down a few years later than expected. I will be shocked if they are in a playoff spot at any point in December or later as almost everything has to go right. With a team that hasn't been good at drafting and developing, how the Bruins' situation is managed will be one to pay close attention to.
