Ingram has been in the program since re-entering it back in March, saying he had not been himself since his mother died of breast cancer last December. He had taken a month-long absence earlier to grieve.

"At this point in my life, I need to put my health first and take the proper time I need away to come back at 100%," Ingram said at the time. "Though many view the program as a resource for substance abuse, I want to recognize all that they do. I am once again privileged to have access to their network of world class health professionals to hopefully avoid long-term negative effects of putting your health second. With the program's assistance, I look forward to getting the medical help I need and returning to a happy and healthy life."
The 28-year-old also entered the program in 2021, at that time for an alcohol problem. He emerged successfully, and won the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy in 2024 for perseverance, sportsmanship and dedication to hockey.
He had established himself that season as a starter between the pipes for the then-Arizona Coyotes, with a .907 save percentage and a 2.91 goals against average in 48 starts.
He had started 22 games last season with an .882 Sv% before he realized he needed to give priority to his mental health, and entered the Assistance Program again.
It's expected he should be ready to go for the 2025-26 NHL season.
