Golden Knights and Jack Eichel working on long-term contract extension

It sounds like Jack Eichel will be staying with the Vegas Golden Knights for the foreseeable future.

Eichel, 28, is entering the final year of his current contract, making $10 million AAV, and holding a full no-movement clause. The Golden Knights and Eichel's camp have been working on a new deal throughout the last eight weeks, and according to Frank Seravalli, the team sides could finalize a new extension sometime in September.

Eichel is coming off a monster season, scoring 28 goals and a career high 94 points in 77 games. With Mitch Marner now on his right wing, it will be interesting to see what having Marner on his line does for Eichel's game. Look for the dynamic center to have many more opportunities to score with the facilitation of Marner now in Vegas, so there's certainly a good chance he hovers around the 100-point mark the next few season.

The Golden Knights will likely have to move out a player before the start of the 2026-27 season, as Eichel's in line for roughly a $3 million raise, and the Golden Knights don't have a ton of money to burn. One player to keep an eye on throughout the trade market would be William Karlsson.

As for Eichel, he's not going anywhere, and a new deal could be announced in the coming days.
