New York Rangers: Best Addition & Worst Subtraction Of 2025 NHL Offseason
The NHL season is just about here, which is undoubtedly exciting news for hockey fans. Due to this, we here at NHL Trade Rumors will be starting a series looking at each team's best addition and worst subtraction of the 2025 NHL off-season.
In this latest edition of the series, we will be taking a look at the New York Rangers.
Best Addition: Vladislav Gavrikov
The Rangers' top addition of this summer was defenseman Vladislav Gavrikov. The Rangers signed the left-shot defenseman to a seven-year, $49 million contract in free agency. When noting that he is a steady top-pairing defenseman who provides a bit of everything, he should be a big part of the Rangers' blueline from here.
Worst Subtraction: Chris Kreider
The Rangers traded Chris Kreider to the Anaheim Ducks this offseason, and he is a player who they could miss tremendously if he bounces back with his new team. The Massachusetts native was a massive part of the Rangers' throughout his time in New York, as he not only provided good offense but also plenty of grit.
