NHL Rumors: 3 Sharks Trade Candidates For 2025-26 Season

Jeff Skinner, San Jose Sharks

The San Jose Sharks are heading into the 2025-26 season as a rebuilding team. Because of this, it is likely that they will trade some of their players during this campaign.

Due to this, let's look at three Sharks who could get traded during the 2025-26 season.

Mario Ferraro

Ferraro is certainly a player to keep an eye on in the rumor mill this season. The left-shot defenseman is entering the final season of his contract and is a pending UFA. Because of this, if the Sharks do not view him as a long-term part of their plans, he could be a valuable trade chip for them once we get closer to the deadline.

Alexander Wennberg

Wennberg is another pending UFA on the Sharks' roster who will need to be watched this season. He could be a popular target for teams looking to improve down the middle. This is especially so when noting that he works well on the penalty kill and has a good amount of overall experience.

Jeff Skinner

Once we get closer to the deadline, Skinner will be another interesting player to watch on the Sharks. He signed for only one year with the Sharks this off-season, so he could be a player the Sharks shop at the deadline. The veteran winger could generate interest from teams looking for more skill and offense. This is especially so if he bounces back this season with the Sharks after a tough 2024-25 season with the Edmonton Oilers.
