The Nashville Predators have made a roster move, claiming forward Tyson Jost off waivers from the Carolina Hurricanes, according to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman.

Jost, 27, had just re-signed with Carolina this past July on a one-year deal but found himself among five players the Hurricanes waived earlier this week.

Jost’s Career and Recent Play

A former 10th-overall pick in the 2016 NHL Draft, Jost split last season between the Hurricanes and their AHL affiliate in Chicago. He tallied four goals and five assists in 39 games with Carolina, while posting the same stat line in 14 games with the Wolves.

Over his NHL career, which includes stops with the Colorado Avalanche and Buffalo Sabres, Jost has played in 495 games, recording 61 goals and 88 assists for 149 points. He’s also added 10 points in 46 career playoff appearances.

While his production has fluctuated over the years, he brings nearly 500 games of NHL experience to a Predators team looking to solidify its middle six. The other 21 players placed on waivers Tuesday, including Dryden Hunt, Matt Tomkins, and Ryan Suzuki, all cleared.

Jost, however, will now get a fresh opportunity in Music City.
