Senators captain Brady Tkachuk to miss significant time

It's next man up in Ottawa.

The Ottawa Senators announced on Tuesday that captain Brady Tkachuk will miss at least a month due to a wrist injury. There's also potential that surgery will be required, which would mean Tkachuk wouldn't likely be back until early 2026.

Tkachuk suffered the injury on Monday against the Nashville Predators, after crashing into the boards from a hit from Preds' defenceman Roman Josi in the first period. Tkachuk initially left the game in discomfort, however returned to log 13:53 minutes in the game. He sat the final nine minutes of the game due to discomfort.

The team will announce on Wednesday if Tkachuk is required, which would mean Tkachuk would be out for several months. He's posted three assists in three games so far in the young season.

Last season, Tkachuk finished with 29 goals and 55 points in 72 games. The 26-year-old American is expected to be a major part of Team USA's Olympic team, so let's hope he's not out too long to miss the Olympics. The tournament opens on Feb.12.
