Romanov is expected to report to the Springfield Thunderbirds, the Blues’ AHL affiliate, where he’ll serve as their likely starter following the departure of Colten Ellis, who was claimed on waivers by the Buffalo Sabres.
With Jordan Binnington and Joel Hofer locked in as the NHL tandem, Romanov will provide organizational depth and could see spot duty if injuries arise during the condensed 2025-26 season.
