Edmonton Oilers Sign Free Agent Jack Roslovic
The Edmonton Oilers have added more offensive depth, signing forward Jack Roslovic to a one-year, $1.5 million contract.
The deal, first reported by Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman, comes after Roslovic’s strong 2024-25 campaign with the Carolina Hurricanes, where he tied his career high with 22 goals, previously set in 2021-22, and 39 points in 81 games.

Oilers Sign Jack Roslovic to One-Year, $1.5M Contract
Roslovic, 28, entered free agency as one of the top remaining unsigned players after struggling to find the right fit in Carolina’s playoff lineup.
The Oilers reportedly made multiple pitches to the Columbus, Ohio native earlier in the summer before sealing the deal this week. General manager Stan Bowman described the signing as a “low-risk, high-reward” move, emphasizing Roslovic’s speed and ability to generate even-strength scoring, an area the Oilers were looking to improve.

The signing follows a busy week for Edmonton, which included a two-year, $25 million extension for Connor McDavid and a three-year, $12 million extension for defenseman Mattias Ekholm.
Roslovic, a 2015 first-round pick by the Winnipeg Jets, has totaled 102 goals and 260 points across 526 career NHL games split between Winnipeg, the Columbus Blue Jackets, New York Rangers, and Hurricanes.
He’s expected to compete for a middle-six role and bring much-needed speed and versatility to the Oilers’ forward group.
The Oilers dropped their home opener to the Calgary Flames 4-3 in a shootout, blowing a three-goal lead in the loss.
