Toronto Maple Leafs Announce Scott Laughton Injury News

Scott Laughton, Maple Leafs

The Toronto Maple Leafs have announced that forward Scott Laughton will be out week-to-week due to a lower-body injury.
According to TSN's Darren Dreger, Laughton suffered his injury in the Maple Leafs' preseason contest against the Detroit Red Wings on Oct. 3.

With Laughton expected to be out for a decent amount of time, a spot on the Maple Leafs' roster is now up for grabs. The Maple Leafs have plenty of forward depth, so it is going to be very fascinating to see who ends up making Toronto's opening night roster from here.

Laughton appeared in 80 games during the 2024-25 season split between the Philadelphia Flyers and Maple Leafs, where he recorded 13 goals, 18 assists, 31 points, 54 blocks, and 178 hits. However, his offense noticeably went down after being traded to the Maple Leafs, as he had two goals, two assists, and four points in 20 games with Toronto following the move.

It will now be interesting to see how the Maple Leafs adjust to Laughton being out of the lineup week to week. He is expected to be a key part of the Maple Leafs' bottom six once he is healthy, but for now, they will be without his services for the time being with this injury news.
