Senators Forward Arthur Kaliyev Accused Of Stealing $50K To Cover Gambling Debts
According to The New York Post, Mochen alleges that Kaliyev manipulated her into sending him money through PayPal and Apple Cash under the guise that his bank accounts were frozen. She later discovered that the checks he provided to reimburse her were fraudulent, leaving her bank account thousands of dollars in debt.
Mochen has since filed a police report in Michigan and is reportedly considering pressing charges.

Gambling Debts and Team Tension
The report goes beyond Mochen’s accusations, alleging that Kaliyev owed around $50,000 to several of his former Los Angeles Kings teammates and team staff. Text messages cited in the Post include mentions of defenseman Drew Doughty and forward Igor Larionov II discussing those unpaid debts.
Former Kings GM Rob Blake reportedly refused to trade or waive Kaliyev until he settled outstanding payments, including missed trainer tips. The winger was eventually placed on waivers in January and later signed a one-year deal with the Ottawa Senators after a short stint with the New York Rangers.

League and Team Response
The Ottawa Senators have declined to comment on the situation, deferring all questions to the NHL.
The league confirmed that it reviewed social media claims about Kaliyev earlier this year but “found no substantiation” that he violated league rules. Kaliyev, now playing for Ottawa’s AHL affiliate in Belleville, has yet to address the allegations publicly.
While no charges have been filed, Mochen says she intends to pursue legal action.
