Blue Jackets' Zach Werenski injured vs. Capitals

The Columbus Blue Jackets are holding their breaths it's nothing serious, but defenceman Zach Werenski left Monday's game against the Washington Capitals with an upper-body injury.

As of right now, it's unclear where the injury occurred, as nobody's been able to pin point the moment during Monday's game Werenski was hurt. Not only was Werenski ruled out before the start of the third period against the Caps, the same can be said about tough guy Mathieu Olivier, who didn't suit up in the final frame.

The Blue Jackets are going to re-evaluate Werenski on Tuesday, as of right now, there's no set timetable for his return, and the team mentioned after the game it's too early to determine exactly what's going on.

Werenski was named the second star of the NHL last week, and is once again having himself a stellar season. Through just over a quarter of the season, Werenski has posted 21 points, and ranks second in average ice-time per game playing 26:50 a night.

The 28-year-old is not only a huge part of the Blue Jackets, but he's also going to be a huge part of Team USA's Olympic team in February. So there's a lot of people wondering what exactly is going on, as news is expected to drop on Tuesday with exactly what Werenski has hurt, and his timetable to return.
