Dallas Stars' Mikko Rantanen ejected for boarding vs. Islanders
Dallas Stars winger Mikko Rantanen was slapped with a five-minute major and a game misconduct for boarding New York Islanders defenceman Alexander Romanov on Tuesday night.
The brutal hit came in the final minute of the game in New York's 3-2 win against the Stars.

Romanov remained down in pain as all hell broke loose on the ice, and eventually was helped off the ice. Islanders head coach Patrick Roy was rightfully heated after the hit, and wasn't shy to let Rantanen hear a piece of his mind as he left the ice.
"When you see the number, you have to lay off," Roy told reporters postgame while speaking about the hit. "Everybody knows that. You don't go through the guy."Patrick Roy is my head coach. #Isles pic.twitter.com/vgjUGpYUBQ

Roy is familiar with Rantanen as a person and as a player, as he coached him his rookie season in Colorado. The Finnish forward has never been suspended in his 11-year NHL career, but that could be changing this week.
It went from bad to worse for the Stars after Rantanen departed, as they thought they tied the game with just 0.1 seconds left on the clock, but the goal was called back for goaltender interference.
