NHL Trade Rumors: 3 Landing Spots For Sharks' Timothy Liljegren
The San Jose Sharks are still rebuilding, and the expectation is that they will be sellers once we get closer to the 2025 NHL trade deadline. One clear player on their roster to watch as the season rolls on is defenseman Timothy Liljegren. The 26-year-old blueliner is a pending unrestricted free agent (UFA) and could be a prime rental target for playoff teams.
Due to this, let's look at three teams that could consider pursuing Liljegren.
Dallas Stars
The Stars could be a team to watch if the Sharks end up shopping Liljegren this season. When looking at the right side of their defense, it is apparent that it could use a boost. Bringing in Liljegren would have the potential to do just that.
Vegas Golden Knights
One of the Golden Knights' top objectives this season should be to improve their defensive depth. Because of this, a player like Liljegren could grab their attention. If they acquired him, he would provide them with another solid option for their bottom pairing.
Ottawa Senators
The Senators could be another team to keep an eye on when it comes to Liljegren. The right side of their defense could use a bit of an upgrade, and a player like Liljegren could give it just that. When looking at their group, Liljegren could slot very nicely on their third pairing.
