NHL News: Chicago Blackhawks Call Up First-Round Pick
The Chicago Blackhawks have made a notable roster move ahead of their contest against the Seattle Kraken. According to The Athletic's Scott Powers, the Blackhawks have called up forward Oliver Moore from their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Rockford IceHogs.

Moore has certainly earned this latest opportunity with the Blackhawks, as he has had a strong start to the season with the IceHogs. In nine games on the year thus far with the AHL squad, the 6-foot forward has recorded six goals, three assists, nine points, and a plus-8 rating. With numbers like these, there is no question that he has been having success in the AHL early on.
All eyes will certainly be on Moore after landing this call-up, as he is one of the Blackhawks' most promising prospects. The 2023 first-round pick is expected to become a key part of the Blackhawks' roster in the future due to his strong all-around game.
Moore played in his first nine NHL games this past season with the Blackhawks, where he recorded four assists and four penalty minutes. Overall, the young forward showed good promise during his small sample size with the Blackhawks last season.
