NHL Trade Rumors: 3 Landing Spots For Islanders' Jean-Gabriel Pageau
New York Islanders forward Jean-Gabriel Pageau has been a popular name in the rumor mill for quite some time. Yet, now that he is a pending unrestricted free agent (UFA), the Islanders very well could trade him if they end up not being in the playoff race once we get closer to the deadline.
Due to this, let's look at three teams that could target Pageau if he is made available by the Islanders this season.
Vancouver Canucks
The Canucks could use some help at the center position, so a player like Pageau could grab their attention. When looking at their current roster, Pageau could slot nicely on their second line and on both of their special team units if brought in. With this, the Canucks should be watched when it comes to Pageau.
Montreal Canadiens
One of the Canadiens' top goals this season should be to add another skilled center. Due to this, a player like Pageau could make a lot of sense for them to pursue. The 32-year-old would give their middle six a nice boost and also provide them with another veteran mentor for their younger players if brought in.
Utah Mammoth
The Mammoth have had a nice start to the season and could very well look to add to their roster this season because of it. With the Mammoth being an exciting team on the rise, bringing in a veteran two-way center like Pageau could benefit them tremendously.
