Report: Winnipeg Jets Trading Prospect Brad Lambert

The Winnipeg Jets have granted forward prospect Brad Lambert permission to seek a trade around the league. Hockey insider Frank Seravalli was first to report the news.

Lambert was originally a 2022 first-round pick, 30th overall, and now his agent is working the phones with general managers across the league looking for a new home. Lambert has had a tough time cracking the Jets lineup on a consistent basis since being selected three years ago, and through just 10 career NHL games, he's scored one goal and two assists.

Lambert is a shifty forward with tons of speed, but doesn't necessarily play an in-your-face kind of style. A native of Finland, growing up Lambert shot up the ranks pre-draft and was once projected to be a top-five pick in the draft, and unfortunately, had a very poor season his draft year, and it's been a bit of a roller coaster since.

Throughout 141 games of American Hockey League experience, Lambert collected 93 points. At 21 years old, there's still plenty of untapped potential, and it's likely we'll see a trade materialize within the new few days.

Lambert has two years remaining on his entry-level contract, and carries a cap hit of $886,666.
