TRADE: St. Louis Blues & Washington Capitals Swap Defensemen

Calle Rosen, St. Louis Blues

The St. Louis Blues have announced that they have acquired defenseman Calle Rosen from the Washington Capitals in exchange for blueliner Corey Schueneman.

Rosen is a defenseman who the Blues already know well, as he played three NHL seasons for them from 2021-22 to 2023-24. Now, with this trade, he will be heading back to the Blues organization.

Rosen signed with the Capitals during this off-season and spent all of this campaign with their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Hershey Bears, before this trade. In nine games with the Bears on the season, he recorded one goal, six assists, seven points, and a plus-3 rating.

In 93 career NHL games split between the Toronto Maple Leafs, Colorado Avalanche, and Blues, Rosen has recorded 11 goals, 20 assists, 31 points, and a plus-10 rating.

Schueneman was in his second season with the Blues organization before this trade. In nine games this season with their AHL affiliate, the Springfield Thunderbirds, he recorded one goal, six points, and two penalty minutes. This is after he had four goals and 20 points in 63 games with the Thunderbirds in 2024-25.

In 35 career NHL games over three seasons split between the Montreal Canadiens and Blues, Schueneman has recorded two goals, five assists, seven points, and a minus-4 rating.
