Oilers' Tristan Jarry leaves game injured vs. Bruins

Absolute nightmare fuel for Edmonton Oilers fans on Thursday night as goaltender Tristan Jarry left the game against the Boston Bruins due to a lower-body injury.

The play occurred in the second period as Jarry appeared to have tweaked something during some lateral movements and it was worrisome because of the fact it was a non-contact injury. He was stretching from post to post to make a save and then felt something wrong. Cal Pickard came in relief and finished off the win.

Jarry has been playing well through three games for the Oilers and appeared to have a new lease on life, but now, this could be disaster if he's out long term. When Edmonton acquired him, this was the only thing to worry about. Jarry's had a long history of not being able to stay healthy for long stretches, so everyone in Edmonton is at the edge of their seat waiting on the news.

Jarry had stopped 12 of 13 shots before leaving injured against the Bruins. Edmonton had acquired Jarry, along with Samuel Poulin, in exchange for Stuart Skinner, Brett Kulak and a 2029 second-round pick.

Don't be surprised to see Connor Ingram recalled if Jarry hits the IR for a couple of weeks. Edmonton has been rolling of late, and are now comfortably in a playoff spot, and look to be rounding into form mid-way through the year.

As for Jarry, this was a bounce-back season for him, as he's 11-3-1 with a .905 save percentage. He owns a massive ranch outside of Edmonton, and spends his summers there, so this was the only team he wanted to get traded to. It's unfortunate a potential ugly injury has crept into the picture so soon into his tenure.
