NHL Trade Rumors: Interest Picking Up In 2 Veteran Flames Forwards
Trade interest is picking up in Blake Coleman and Nazem Kadri, and it makes sense because contenders always start sniffing around proven veterans once the market sees one big move go down.
Blake Coleman trade interest is building fast
Coleman is the kind of player playoff teams fall in love with in a hurry. He plays a hard, honest game, he can move up and down the lineup, and he is producing enough that you can justify the cap hit. He's also won two Stanley Cups with the Tampa Bay Lightning.
After this season, Coleman has one more year under contract at an AAV of $4.9M.

Pierre LeBrun’s reporting has already had people connecting dots, including Dallas being linked as a team that has at least kicked tires.
This season, the 34-year-old has recorded 10 goals, 15 points, and an impressive +9 plus/minus rating on a -16 goal differential Flames.
Nazem Kadri trade rumors keep getting louder
Kadri is still the big prize if Calgary ever decides to go there. Anthony Di Marco reported that the Minnesota Wild are looking at him after dealing for Quinn Hughes.
The money is the whole game here, and any Kadri deal likely needs salary retention and cap gymnastics, but the demand is not the question. Kadri has three more years left on his contract after this season, carrying an AAV of $7M.
The 35-year-old has put up seven goals and 29 points over 34 games this season, while winning 49.2% of his faceoffs. Over his four seasons in Calgary, Kadri has 95 goals and 227 total points across 280 games played.

For Calgary, Coleman has enough term that you do not have to rush, and Kadri’s contract makes any move complicated enough that you can be patient and force teams to pay for the headache.
Either way, the calls are coming, and it feels like the Flames are going to be one of the league’s biggest traffic hubs as the deadline gets closer.
