Report: 2 Teams Frustrated With Current Trade Market

The NHL's holiday roster freeze is just over a week away, and while many thought there'd be a slew of trades going down in December, that hasn't been the case at all. And, according to one hockey insider, a couple of teams are frustrated by the lack of movement, or willingness to deal.

Frank Seravalli: Re NHL trade market: Nashville has some interest in making some moves; Toronto has been making a lot of calls; a whole collection of teams...aren't satisfied...but haven't necessarily found a way to move the ball forward in transactions - Oilers Now (12/8)

Predators GM Barry Trotz and Maple Leafs GM Brad Treliving have been working the phones for weeks, but so far, nothing has moved to advanced trade talks. The Preds are once again a bottom-feeder in the Western Conference, and while Trotz won't give into a fire sale, he's trying to move on from some pending free agents, and he's listening on a couple of players with no-movement clauses, including Steven Stamkos and Jonathan Marchessault. Expect to see Michael Bunting moved at some point this season.

In Toronto, they've been hammered with injuries as Anthony Stolarz, Joseph Woll, Chris Tanev, Brandon Carlo, and Dakota Mermis are all on IR at the moment. The Leafs don't have much for cap space, they have only a few trade assets that teams are interested, meanwhile, they reportedly would be interested in moving on from Max Domi, Calle Jarnkrok, and could eventually listen on one of their goaltenders considering how well Dennis Hildeby is playing.

Keep an eye on both the Leafs and Preds as they are two teams going in opposite directions, but have two GMs who are always very aggressive on the trade market.
