Report: Edmonton Oilers trying to sign Marc-Andre Fleury

The Edmonton Oilers have already made one goalie trade this season, and from the sounds of it, they're not done adding in their crease. Multiple reports have surfaced stating the Oilers have contacted Marc-Andre Fleury about coming out of retirement.

Surprisingly, Fleury is open to joining a contender, this coming after he signed a one-week contract with the Pittsburgh Penguins, and retired as a Penguins during the preseason. The Oilers see Fleury as the perfect addition to Tristan Jarry, as the two are very familiar with each other from their Pittsburgh days together.

Fleury, 41, played last season for the Minnesota Wild, appearing in 26 games with a 14-9-1 record, .899 save percentage and 2.94 goals-against average. Hockey insider Frank Seravalli also has linked the Oilers to Fleury recently:
There’s been a lot of talk about Alex Lyon, right? I’d have to think that one name that the Edmonton Oilers are thinking about today in this circumstance is Marc-André Fleury. (He spent) another hour and a half on the ice last week with Minnesota Wild scratches, (he) played in that preseason game earlier this year with the Pittsburgh Penguins. I think he’s got the itch to keep playing, and I think for a guy who really has made a home in Minnesota, there’s no room for him there with Wallstedt and Gustavsson. If he’s going to come back, it’s going to be with a team that has an authentic chance to win. And that’s got the Oilers written all over it.

Keep an eye on the Oilers, they aren't done making changes in net, and it sounds like a future hall-of-famer could be on the way next.
