Maple Leafs Trade Rumors: Dennis Hildeby Linked to Metropolitan Club
And of the threesome of Joseph Woll, Anthony Stolarz and young Dennis Hildeby, it might be the latter that has the most trade value around the league.
In Philadelphia, the Flyers have given up 18 goals in their last four games (in which they've gone winless) for a 4.50 GAA, and it's even worse over their last dozen games, with 56 goals surrendered (4.66 GAA). Yes, Dan Vladar has been solid as the starter, but when he's not between the pipes, it's been a disaster. And GM Daniel Briere would love to do something about it.
To that end, insider Anthony Di Marco reports for Daily Faceoff that the exciting youngster between the pipes for Toronto is of interest to the Flyers.
From a long-term perspective, I had wondered about Maple Leafs goaltender Dennis Hildeby... Hildeby is someone I know the Flyers like, according to sources. Is he available? That much is uncertain, but he may be the Leafs’ best trade chip.
At this point, however, does it make sense for the Leafs, if they're ready for a major "retool" or whatever "R" word you want to use, to part with their young, up-and-coming goalie who is signed through 2027-28 at an $841,667 cap hit?
It would behoove the Buds, at this point, to try to unload one of the Woll/Stolarz tandem, if they can somehow manage to find a taker. Would the Flyers have any interest in one of them?
