NY Rangers Get Ominous Updates On Shesterkin & Adam Fox
Sometimes, the injuries that provide the biggest scare in hockey are the non-contact ones. It means that something has gone terribly wrong internally, not because of a blunt trauma. That's the situation the New York Rangers have been facing after their team MVP Igor Shesterkin went down in Monday night's game.
We're now getting an update saying that the netminder has "avoided the worst-case scenario", but nevertheless is going on IR while he will be further evaluated with more tests.

However the Rangers goalie will go on IR with a lower body injury. He will continue to be evaluated.
The injury occured after a near-collision with Utah's JJ Peterka in the crease, but it's Shesterkin's left leg that gets awkwardly twisted or stretched out, without taking any contact.

Adam Fox goes on LTIR after yet another long-term injury
But that wasn't the only bad news on the injury front in this game for the Rangers. It appears that Adam Fox is dealing with a more serious concern, as he has been placed on LTIR. The d-man mysteriously suffered a lower-body injury at some point, even though he logged over 23 minutes of ice time against the Mammoth. He did not play in the overtime period.
Fox had only just returned on New Year's Eve, after missing a month with an upper-body injury. The LTIR stint means he'll miss at least another 10 games or 24 days.
