Report: Team USA's Olympic Roster Leaked Days Before Unveiling
While Team Canada's Olympic team was named on New Years Eve, Team USA's team wasn't suppose to be known until Friday, however, thanks to some detective work from a few reporters, the team has been leaked.
And yes, there's a bunch of players left off the roster that already have people shaking their heads. But, let's start with who was named, or will be named, and there's already six we know are heading to Milan.
Auston Matthews, Brady Tkachuk, Quinn Hughes, Matthew Tkachuk, Jack Eichel and Charlie McAvoy were already named to the roster. Let's fill in the rest:
Matt Boldy, Kyle Connor, Jake Guentzel, Jack Hughes, Clayton Keller, Dylan Larkin, J.T. Miller, Brock Nelson, Tage Thompson and Vincent Trocheck.Brock Faber, Noah Hanifin, Seth Jones, Jake Sanderson, Jaccob Slavin, Zach Werenski.
Connor Hellebuyck, Jake Oettinger, Jeremy Swayman.
Biggest snubs are Jason Robertson, who essentially is in the top-3 stats for just about everything when it comes to American-born players. Why he wasn't picked is beyond us and look for him to be the first injury replacement, but frankly, should have been picked over Brock Nelson or Clayton Keller. Cole Caufield got snubbed, which is wild considering how talented he is, and how lethal his shot is.
On the back end, Adam Fox, Lane Hutson, and John Carlson are the biggest snubs. Fox played at 4 Nations Faceoff, but his play has dropped off this season, and meanwhile Seth Jones is playing amazing and deserves to make the team.
In net, much of the same, and one of the best trios in the tournament.
Team USA all set, how we feel 'Merica?
