3 Offseason Trade Destinations for Kraken's Shane Wright

Shane Wright, Seattle Kraken

Seattle Kraken forward Shane Wright created plenty of chatter as a trade candidate leading up to the 2026 NHL trade deadline. The Kraken ended up not moving him, but it would not be surprising if teams pursued him during the summer as well.

Because of this, let's look at three potential offseason trade destinations for Wright if the Kraken make him available this summer.

New York Rangers

The Rangers were connected to Wright leading up to the deadline, and it is not difficult to understand why. Wright is exactly the kind of young center with good upside that a retooling team like the Rangers should have on their radar. If they landed him this summer, he could be a strong fit in their top six. This is especially so if the Blueshirts end up trading Vincent Trocheck this summer.

Pittsburgh Penguins

The Penguins have taken a big step in the right direction this season and are in the playoff race because of it. While this is the case, they are a team that is still focused on the future. Because of this, it would make a lot of sense if they made a serious push for Wright this offseason. If he broke out from the fresh start, he could give the Penguins a long-term answer in their top six.

Philadelphia Flyers

The Flyers desperately need to improve at center if they hope to take that next step and be a playoff team. With Wright having plenty of skill and potential, he is exactly the kind of center who should grab the Flyers' potential. At just 22 years old, he would be a marvelous fit on a team on the rise like the Flyers.
