Detroit Red Wings Make Big Last-Minute Move, Land Justin Faulk From Blues

St. Louis Blues defenceman Justin Faulk

His captain laid into him for his lack of action after last year's trade deadline, so it was utterly imperative on Steve Yzerman to make a big move for his blossoming Detroit Red Wings this year. There was really no excuse not to. And finally, at the 11th hour (or really, the very last minute) of this trade deadline, the Wings have finally made a splash, landing Justin Faulk from the St. Louis Blues.

It's a first-round pick, a third-rounder and Justin Holl as the return heading to St. Louis.

The 33-year-old Faulk has had a renaissance season on the St. Louis blueline this year, with 11 goals and 32 points through 61 games. He's been a reliable top-four defender, blocking 102 shots and logging his usual 22:30 of average ice time.

More to come...
