Breaking Trade: Blues' Brayden Schenn Dealt to Islanders

Brayden Schenn

The New York Islanders have finally gotten into the action at this trade deadline, making a big splash, as have the St. Louis Blues, as Brayden Schenn is headed to the Island.

It’s a 2026 first-rounder, a third-rounder, and Jonathan Drouin and Swedish prospect Marcus Gidlof going back to St. Louis.

The 34-year-old Schenn has been seemingly on the block for a couple of years now. The Blues make their first big move, after having their attempted Colton Parayko trade to Buffalo blocked by the player's no-trade clause.

Schenn waived his no-trade clause (he had a 15-team no-trade list) to give this deal the thumbs up.

His production this season has been down quite a bit, however, with just 12 goals and 28 points through 61 games. He's on pace for his lowest output since his second NHL season, 13 years ago.

But he'll add a ton of playoff experience and even Stanley Cup pedigree to a young Islanders squad.
