New York Rangers trading Vincent Trocheck & Sam Carrick
The New York Rangers are open for business, and on Thursday night at home against the Toronto Maple Leafs, will be keeping a couple of their forwards out of the lineup for 'roster management' purposes.

Vincent Trocheck and Sam Carrick are both healthy scratches, as trade talks continue and are expected to materialize into something before Friday's deadline. The Rangers have had an awful season and their fire sale began ahead of the Olympic break, and now GM Chris Drury works his way through advanced talks.
Trocheck, 32, has three years left on his contract at $5.6 million AAV, and he's certainly one of the best trade candidates on the market. There's a ton of interest, and Drury is wise to sit him to avoid any last minute injuries before Friday's trade deadline. The two-way center is having a great season on the struggling Rangers, posting 12 goals and 39 points in 46 games, while playing both sides of special teams. Trocheck owns a 12-team no trade clause, and has been linked to the Minnesota Wild, Detroit Red Wings, Carolina Hurricanes, and Montreal Canadiens.
Carrick, 34, can play either the wing or down the middle. He's signed through next season at $1 million AAV, and doesn't own any trade protection. Used mostly on the fourth line, Carrick is averaging 10:24 of ice time per game, and has collected 10 points in 60 games, while landing 86 hits and winning 53% of his faceoffs. Look for the Anaheim Ducks to circle back on Carrick, and don't be surprised to see the Boston Bruins have interest.
Chris Drury is cooking at the moment and after dealing Artemi Panarin, more trades are on the way. While Trocheck will fetch a significant return, many in New York are wondering why the team isn't looking to move former number-one overall pick Alexis Lafreniere.
