St. Louis Blues In Advanced Trade Talks On 5 Players

The St. Louis Blues are open for business, and even though Colton Parayko nixed a trade to the Buffalo Sabres, don't think for a second general manager Doug Armstrong is anywhere near finished.

The Blues are in advanced trade talks on several of their core players, including Parayko, Jordan Binnington, Robert Thomas, Pius Suter, and Justin Faulk. It's full sell mode for Armstrong and company as the Blues are looking to change over their core, and start an accelerated rebuild.

Parayko leveraged his no-movement clause and decided to stay in St. Louis, at least for now, but fully expect to see him dealt before Friday afternoon's deadline, as the Los Angeles Kings or Anaheim Ducks are the defenseman's preferred destinations.

Binnington is one of the only experienced goaltenders on the market, so it makes sense for the Blues to cash in this season. They've been in talks with the Vegas Golden Knights and Montreal Canadiens, and although things are a little quiet at the moment, that can change in a heart beat. Word is the Blues prefer Sam Montembeault in return over Adin Hill, and his long-term contract at this point.

Suter's market is tricky because Jason Dickinson and Nic Roy were already moved. He could wind up back with the Detroit Red Wings, who are looking to add up front before the deadline.

Faulk and Dougie Hamilton of the New Jersey Devils appear to be tied together, as both d-men are involved in trade talks, and for some teams, one is plan A and one is the fallback option. Look for the Carolina Hurricanes to land of the two.

Thomas, is the prized jewel of this market. He's been linked to the Canadiens, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Boston Bruins, but expect to see the Minnesota Wild circle in with a massive offer Thursday night.

The Blues are open for business, and decent sized fire sale is coming.
