NHLTR: Maple Leafs Trade Talks Involve 5 Players
Toronto Maple Leafs remain a team to watch heading into Friday's trade deadline, as general manager Brad Treliving is involved in multiple trade conversations.
The Leafs are sellers ahead of this season's trade deadline, which is a situation they had no interest in being in at the start of the year. After a disappointing year, Treliving is trying to retool on the fly and has several players who could be on the move before Friday afternoon.
Bobby McMann and Scott Laughton are the two who teams are calling the most about. Both are pending unrestricted free agents and on cheap deals under $2 million AAV. McMann could fetch a first-round pick, meanwhile Laughton would land Treliving a solid prospect and mid-round pick.
Nic Roy has been linked to the Edmonton Oilers, but the hold up seems to be the Oilers want to include Andrew Mangiapane in return, who Treliving isn't overly thrilled about. Nick Robertson is someone the Leafs have received calls on, as the 24-year-old winger has been in and out of the lineup, despite having the ability to put the puck in the back of the net.
Brandon Carlo on the back end is someone teams are interested in, however, Treliving traded top prospect Fraser Minten, a first-round pick, and conditional fourth rounder, so moving on from Carlo now would get the Leafs' GM in hot water.
Keep an eye on the Leafs, big moves are coming over the next 48 hours.
