NHL Rumors: Flyers Are Not Done With Owen Tippett Trade Talks

Philadelphia Flyers forward Owen Tippett reacts during 2026 game.

The Philadelphia Flyers didn’t pull the trigger at the deadline, but they were still making calls.

Owen Tippett’s name never really left the rumor mill, and it's expected to pick up again.

According to David Pagnotta, the Flyers could revisit trade talks this offseason, with multiple teams already lining up for another run at the 27-year-old winger.

Owen Tippett Flyers trade buzz expected to return

Tippett drew serious interest leading up to the deadline, and while nothing ultimately happened, the groundwork has already been laid for something bigger this summer.

“His name popped up a bunch the last couple of weeks… the Flyers are willing to listen, but you’ve got to make them an offer that entices them,” Pagnotta said.

Philadelphia isn't necessarily out there shopping Tippett, but they’re not opposed to the idea either. In other words, they'll listen to what teams have to offer.

Teams like the Boston Bruins, Toronto Maple Leafs, Minnesota Wild, Ottawa Senators, and Edmonton Oilers are expected to circle again.

Tippett’s value rising as Flyers weigh offseason options

It's pretty easy to see why teams are so interested.

Tippett has quietly put together another solid season, sitting around 23 goals and 41 points over 68 games while piling up 182 shots, 136 hits, and averaging 16:47.

This is now his fourth straight season clearing the 20-goal mark, and he’s doing it on a team that hasn’t exactly been an offensive powerhouse.

Tippett is a rare mix of speed, size, and scoring touch, and he’s starting to round out his defensive game as well.

He’s also locked into a long-term deal at $6.2 million annually, which is starting to look like good value for a top-six winger entering his prime.

That kind of contract only increases his trade appeal, especially for contenders looking to add without completely wrecking their cap structure.

Still, this isn’t a simple decision for the Flyers. They’ve got wingers on the younger side like Travis Konecny, Matvei Michkov, and a wave of prospects pushing for NHL spots (Porter Martone, Jett Luchanko).

At some point, something has to give.

If Philadelphia does move him, it won’t be a soft sell. It’s going to take a serious package. And with his modified no-trade clause kicking in soon, this offseason might be the window where things finally escalate.

Over his seven-year career, the former 10th overall pick has recorded 116 goals and 226 points across 415 games played.
