Panthers’ AJ Greer Hit With Multi-Game Suspension

Florida Panthers' fourth-liner AJ Greer has been hit with a three-game suspension by the NHL's Department of Player Safety for a frightening boarding incident on Calgary Flames' Connor Zary.

Greer shoved an unaware, vulnerable Zary from behind, causing him to plow head-first into the boards horribly.

"Why would you do that?" was the exasperated call from the broadcast booth. "What else could you take away but an intent to injury?"

Greer received a five-minute major for interference, and now a three-game ban. But many feel it should have been a lot worse.

The DoPS, of course, has already been under intense scrutiny after the controversial, and most feel, lenient, five-game suspension on Radko Gudas for ending Auston Matthews's season with a knee-on-knee hit.

Matthews' agent called that ruling “laughable and preposterous.”

We can't wait to hear what adjectives are used to describe this latest inexplicable decision.

For Greer, it's his second career suspension.

For Zary, he's being listed as day-to-day for the time being.
