Ottawa Senators Lose Two More Defensemen To Injury
It happened during a gritty 2-1 win over the New York Rangers, where the Senators allowed just nine shots on goal.
Travis Green gave an update on both Thomas Chabot & Lassi Thomson post game: "They'll both be out for a while, that's about all I can say about it right now." #Sens

Chabot exited after taking a painful shot to the wrist area by JT Miller, while Thomson limped off later with a lower-body injury.
Head coach Travis Green didn’t sugarcoat it after the game either, confirming both players will be “out for a while.”
Senators Injury Crisis Gets Worse at the Worst Time
Ottawa was already missing key blue-liners like Jake Sanderson and Nick Jensen, and now they’re suddenly scraping together a defense corps as they fight for a playoff spot with 12 games left.
At one point against New York, they were rolling with just four defensemen for over half the game.
Thomas Chabot gets cross checked on the wrists by JT Miller. He drops his stick and is clearly in pain.

The Rangers captain is enemy #1 for the rest of the night.
Really hope Chabby is okay. The #Sens cannot afford to lose him. He’s been so crucial. pic.twitter.com/shCOeYSuUf
And somehow, they still won. They held the Rangers to just nine shots, the lowest total allowed in an NHL game in over two decades.
Thomas Chabot Injury Leaves Massive Void on Blue Line
Losing Chabot is the real gut punch here.
He’s logging over 22 minutes a night and has been carrying top-pair responsibilities with Sanderson already sidelined.
This season, the 29-year-old has recorded seven goals, 31 total points, a +6 plus/minus rating, and 108 blocked shots across 55 games played.
Now he’s dealing with a wrist injury on the same arm he previously had surgery on, which is… not comforting.
As for Thomson, this was supposed to be his opportunity. First NHL game in years, a chance to carve out a role, and it ends after just a few minutes on the ice.
Brutal break for a player trying to re-establish himself.
Lassi Thomson now leaves the game limping. Sens are down Chabot/Thomson with Sanderson already out. #GoSensGo

This is unreal. pic.twitter.com/U9nko8ViFN
Ottawa now has no choice but to dip into the AHL, with names like Carter Yakemchuk potentially getting thrown into the fire during a playoff race.
The Senators are still right in the mix, sitting just a point back of the Detroit Red Wings and chasing teams like the New York Islanders.
But with their blue line falling apart at the worst possible moment, this is going to be wild to see how this plays out.
