3 Offseason Trade Destinations for Devils’ Timo Meier

New Jersey Devils, Timo Meier

The New Jersey Devils have had a very disappointing 2025-26 season. Due to this, there is a chance that they could look to shake up their roster this offseason because of it.

One Devils forward who is standing out as a potential trade candidate heading into the offseason is Timo Meier. The 29-year-old winger has simply not been a good fit in New Jersey, so let's look at three teams that could target him this offseason.

Chicago Blackhawks

The Blackhawks could be a team to watch this summer if the Devils make Meier available for trade. It is no secret that Connor Bedard needs more help around, and bringing in Meier would have the potential to provide the Blackhawks' young star with just that. Meier could also thrive in a first-line role and on Chicago's power play if acquired.

Winnipeg Jets

The Jets have yet to find a true top-six forward to replace Nikolaj Ehlers, who signed with the Carolina Hurricanes this past offseason. Due to this, it would make sense if they tried to land Meier this summer. Meier could fit perfectly on their first line with Mark Scheifele and Kyle Connor if acquired and see his offensive totals go back up in the process.

Detroit Red Wings

The Red Wings could be another team to watch if Meier ends up being made available by the Devils this offseason. They could use another impactful forward in their top six, and this will especially be the case if they decide not to re-sign Patrick Kane this summer. With this, Meier could be a good fit on a Red Wings club that badly needs to take that next step.
