3 Offseason Trade Destinations for Predators' Roman Josi
Following the 2026 NHL trade deadline, Nashville Predators defenseman Roman Josi was brought up as a potential dark-horse offseason trade candidate by The Athletic's Pierre LeBrun. If the Predators end up embracing a rebuild and making Josi available, there is no question that he would generate a ton of interest.
Due to this, let's look at three teams that could pursue Josi if he is made available during the offseason.
Detroit Red Wings
The Red Wings are struggling to take that next step and become legitimate contenders. Due to this, they should strongly consider making a big move for a star defenseman like Josi this offseason. He would form an excellent top pairing with Moritz Seider and could be the final piece of the puzzle that helps Detroit break out.
Vegas Golden Knights
While the Golden Knights have a good chance of making the playoffs, there is no question that they have had a shaky season. One of their issues has been their defense, so perhaps they could target a star blueliner who can play both sides like Josi this offseason. There is no question that Vegas is never afraid to make a bold move, and Josi is exactly the kind of star Vegas could target this offseason to keep their Stanley Cup window open.
San Jose Sharks
Whether the Sharks end up making the playoffs or not this season, there is no question that they have taken a major step forward this campaign. With this, they should not be afraid to make a blockbuster move for a star defenseman like Josi. The Sharks are entering the summer with multiple pending unrestricted free agent (UFA) defensemen and could use a legitimate No. 1 blueliner. Acquiring Josi would not only give them just that but also a great mentor for Macklin Celebrini and the rest of San Jose's young players.
