3 Offseason Trade Fits for Maple Leafs’ Brandon Carlo
With the Toronto Maple Leafs having such a disappointing 2025-26 season, it is clear that they will be making changes to their roster during the summer. Brandon Carlo will be one trade candidate to watch on their roster this offseason, as he has struggled since his arrival in Toronto last season.
Because of this, let's look at three teams that could look to acquire Carlo during the offseason now.
San Jose Sharks
The Sharks should be looking to add to their blueline during the offseason. They have plenty of pending UFA defensemen, so it would not be surprising if they tried to land a veteran blueliner like Carlo during the summer. He would be a clear fit in their top four and would instantly be their top penalty-killing defenseman if acquired.
Ottawa Senators
The Senators could be another team to keep an eye on when it comes to Carlo. It is no secret that they need to add a top-four right-shot defenseman, so it would be understandable if they tried to swing a deal for Carlo. He could slot nicely on their second pairing and would also work on their penalty kill if brought in.
Seattle Kraken
The Kraken would also make sense as a landing spot for Carlo. They have struggled mightily down the stretch and should be looking to upgrade their defense this summer because of it. Acquiring Carlo would do just that, as he would work nicely on their right side.
