3 Offseason Trade Fits for Rangers' Alexis Lafreniere
The New York Rangers are in the middle of a retool, so more changes to their roster could be on the way during the offseason. One player who has come up in the rumor mill for multiple seasons now is forward Alexis Lafreniere, so he will be a player to keep an eye on this summer as the Rangers continue to make changes to their group.
Because of this, let's look at three teams that could look to acquire Lafreniere during the offseason.
Los Angeles Kings
The Kings may have landed Artemi Panarin from the Rangers earlier this season, but there is no question that they could still use another top-six winger in their top six. Could this lead the Kings and Rangers to make their second blockbuster trade in a calendar year? Lafreniere would be a nice addition to the Kings' top six and power play if acquired.
Utah Mammoth
The Mammoth have taken a nice step in the right direction this season and could be aggressive during the offseason because of it. They could use another top-six winger, so it would make sense if they tried to land Lafreniere from the Rangers. Furthermore, with Lafreniere being only 24 years old, he would be a great fit on a Mammoth team on the rise.
Detroit Red Wings
The Red Wings' awful end to the season should make them look to upgrade their roster during the offseason. Bringing in another skilled winger should be one of their top priorities, so it would be understandable if they made a push for Lafreniere. He could thrive on a line with Dylan Larkin and Lucas Raymond.
