3 Potential Free-Agent Destinations for Evander Kane
With the Vancouver Canucks rebuilding, it is unlikely that forward Evander Kane will be back with them next season. The 34-year-old winger is a pending unrestricted free agent (UFA) and should generate interest if he hits the market.
Because of this, let's take a look at three teams that could look to sign Kane this summer.
Tampa Bay Lightning
The Lightning should be looking to add to their forward depth this offseason. Their bottom six could use a boost, and Kane would provide them with just that if signed. On a cheap one-year deal, Kane could be a strong pickup for a Lightning club that should once again be among the NHL's best teams next season.
Dallas Stars
The Stars were one of the teams linked to Kane leading up to the deadline, and it would not be surprising if they looked to sign him this offseason because of it. He could be a nice addition to the Stars' third line if acquired, as he would give them a bit more secondary offensive production and plenty of physicality.
Colorado Avalanche
The Avalanche are another team that could make sense as a suitor for Kane this summer. With the Avalanche in their win-now window, them signing a veteran forward with a ton of playoff experience like Kane would be understandable. This is especially so when noting that they could use another impactful winger in their bottom six.
