3 Potential Free-Agent Destinations for Patrick Kane

Patrick Kane, Detroit Red Wings

The Detroit Red Wings' epic collapse during the final portion of the season will likely lead to them making several changes to their roster this summer. With this, it is fair to wonder if Detroit won't sign pending UFA Patrick Kane to a contract extension.

Due to this, let's look at three teams that could look to sign Kane if he hits the free-agent market this offseason.

Buffalo Sabres

The Sabres are finally good, and it is fair to wonder if Kane could finally head home to Buffalo because of it. While Kane's days of being a superstar in the NHL are over, he would still have the potential to be a strong addition to the Sabres' middle six if signed. The veteran forward would also give them a three-time Stanley Cup champion to help mentor their younger players.

Tampa Bay Lightning

The Lightning could be a team to watch when it comes to Kane this offseason. When looking at their current roster, there is no question that they could use another skilled right winger in their top six. Due to this, Kane could make a lot of sense for the Bolts on a one-year deal.

Vegas Golden Knights

The Golden Knights are never afraid to make a flashy move, so it would not be particularly surprising if they made a push for Kane this offseason. He would be a nice fit in their top six if signed and would also give them a clear option for their power play.
