NHL Rumors: Devils Have 2 Potential Trade Targets From Canucks
After a very disappointing 2025-26 season, the New Jersey Devils should be looking to upgrade their roster this offseason. One of their biggest needs is another top-six winger.
When looking at potential trade partners around the NHL for the Devils, the Vancouver Canucks stand out as a possible fit. This is because the Canucks have two top-six wingers who could be strong pickups for the Devils if acquired: Brock Boeser and Jake DeBrusk.
Boeser and DeBrusk were both popular names in the rumor mill leading up to the deadline due to the Canucks' struggles. While the Canucks did not move either winger this season, the possibility of that changing during the offseason should not be ruled out.
Boeser could work very well in the Devils' top six on a line with Jack Hughes and Jesper Bratt. Playing with two stars like Hughes and Bratt could help Boeser regain his previous 40-goal form. He would also be a clear option for the Devils' power play if acquired.
As for DeBrusk, he would also have the potential to be a solid pickup for the Devils' top six. The 2015 first-round appeared in 81 games this season with Vancouver, where he had 23 goals and 42 points. This is after he scored a career-high 28 goals and had 48 points in 82 games with Vancouver in 2024-25.
Ultimately, with the Devils needing another scorer, both Boeser and DeBrusk stand out as intriguing potential options. Let's see if New Jersey can end up landing one of them this offseason from here.
