NHL Rumors: 3 Free-Agent Destinations for Kings' Scott Laughton

Scott Laughton, LA Kings

Scott Laughton is a notable pending unrestricted free agent (UFA) heading into the summer. If the veteran center ends up testing the free-agent market instead of re-signing with the Los Angeles Kings, he will generate a lot of interest.

Due to this, let's look at three teams that could sign Laughton during the offseason.

Ottawa Senators

The Senators should be looking to boost their bottom six this offseason, so it would make sense if they made a push for Laughton. He could fit on either their third or fourth line if signed. Furthermore, he would give them another clear option for their penalty kill because of his strong defensive play.

Tampa Bay Lightning

The Lightning could be a team to keep an eye on during the summer when it comes to Laughton. Their bottom six could use more depth, and bringing in a solid two-way forward like Laughton would provide them with just that. He would also give the Lightning another player who plays with plenty of grit, which could help him grab their attention.

Toronto Maple Leafs

Could the Maple Leafs reunite with Laughton during the offseason? While they traded him at the deadline, it would not be particularly surprising if they tried to bring him back to Toronto. He was a solid bottom-six forward for them and could be a good leader for Toronto to bring back as they look to bounce back next season.
