NHL Rumors: 3 Offseason Trade Destinations for Kraken's Vince Dunn
The Seattle Kraken's immense struggles during the final stretch of the season have officially made them miss the playoffs for the third season in a row. With this, it is very possible that Seattle could be looking to make some changes to their roster this offseason.
Kraken defenseman Vince Dunn could be a trade candidate to watch during the summer, as he is entering the final season of his contract in 2026-27. If extension talks do not go well between Dunn and Seattle, the Kraken may have no choice but to listen to offers for him. Because of this, let's look at three teams that could target Dunn this summer.
San Jose Sharks
The Sharks need to improve their blueline this offseason, so it would not be surprising in the slightest if they looked to add a defenseman like Dunn. He would instantly become the Sharks' No. 1 defenseman and could be exactly the kind of high-impact blueliner that helps San Jose get back into the playoffs next season.
New York Rangers
The Rangers could be a team to keep an eye on with Dunn. They have yet to find a true replacement for K'Andre Miller in their top four since they traded him to the Carolina Hurricanes this summer, and Dunn would provide them with just that. Dunn could make a lot of sense for the Rangers if a trade for him came with a contract extension.
Utah Mammoth
The Mammoth would also make sense as a suitor for Dunn this offseason. The left side of their defense could use a boost, and Dunn would be a clear fit in their top four if acquired. With the Mammoth being a team on the rise and making the playoffs this year, it would be understandable if they tried to make a big splash for a blueliner like Dunn this offseason.
