NHL Rumors: 3 Potential New York Rangers Free-Agent Targets
The New York Rangers are in the middle of a retool. Due to this, they should continue to shake up their roster during the summer.
While there is a chance that the Rangers will trade some of their players during the offseason, the possibility of them adding to their roster as well should not be ruled out. Because of this, let's look at three players the Rangers could target this offseason in free agency.
Alex Tuch, RW, Buffalo Sabres
After trading Artemi Panarin to the Los Angeles Kings this season, the Rangers could very well look to add another top-six winger to replace him this summer. Because of this, it would be understandable if the Rangers targeted Tuch if he hits the market on July 1. At 29 years old, Tuch is right in his prime and could be a strong part of the Rangers' core as they look to be more competitive in 2026-27.
Eeli Tolvanen, RW, Seattle Kraken
Tolvanen is another forward who would make sense for the Rangers to target this offseason. While he is not a star like Tuch, Tolvanen would have the potential to be a strong pickup for the Rangers' top nine. This is because he not only chips in offensively but also plays a heavy game. Furthermore, at just 27 years old, he could be a nice fit on a retooling Rangers club.
Logan Stanley, D, Sabres
The Rangers should be looking to add another hard-nosed defenseman to their roster this summer. Stanley stands out as an interesting potential fit if the Sabres do not re-sign him. The 6-foot-7 defenseman would give the left side of the Rangers' blueline a nice boost, whether he played on their second pairing or third pairing.
