NHL Rumors: 3 Free-Agent Destinations for Kraken's Eeli Tolvanen
Seattle Kraken forward Eeli Tolvanen is an interesting pending unrestricted free agent (UFA) heading into the summer. With Tolvanen being a 26-year-old forward who contributes offensively and plays a heavy game, he should generate a good amount of interest if he hits the free-agent market.
Due to this, let's look at three teams that could look to sign Tolvanen if he becomes a free agent this offseason.
Detroit Red Wings
The Red Wings should be looking to boost their top nine this season, and bringing in a forward like Tolvanen would help them do just that. He could work nicely on their third line and would give them another option to work with on both their penalty kill and power play. Furthermore, Tolvanen would give the Red Wings more bite, as evidenced by his 187 hits this season.
Toronto Maple Leafs
The Maple Leafs absolutely should be looking to boost their forward depth this offseason. Tolvanen could be a player who grabs their attention because of it. With Tolvanen being on the right side of 30, he would be a good player for the Maple Leafs to add to their roster as they focus on both the present and the future.
Columbus Blue Jackets
The Blue Jackets could also be a team to watch if Tolvanen hits the free-agent market. He could be a strong fit on their third line if signed and would give Columbus more secondary offensive production. With this, he would be a solid plater for the Blue Jackets to sign to a multi-year deal.
