NHL Rumors: 3 Free-Agent Destinations for Kraken's Jaden Schwartz
Jaden Schwartz is one of the more notable pending unrestricted free agents heading into the summer. If he ends up testing the market instead of signing a contract extension with the Seattle Kraken, he should generate a good amount of interest.
Because of this, let's look at three teams that could look to sign Schwartz during the offseason if he becomes a free agent.
New Jersey Devils
The Devils need to add more secondary offensive production, so Schwartz could make a lot of sense for them as a free-agent target this offseason. He would fit well into the Devils' top nine but could even compete for a spot in their top six. He would also give them another skilled forward to work with on their power play.
Los Angeles Kings
The Kings could be another team to watch when it comes to Schwartz. They could use another solid middle-six forward, and Schwartz could be a strong fit on their because of it. The Kings could also use another veteran with good leadership skills, as Anze Kopitar is retiring following the season.
Detroit Red Wings
The Red Wings need to upgrade their top nine this offseason, as they simply did not get enough depth offensive production this season. Because of this, it would not be particularly surprising if they looked to sign Schwartz during the summer as they look to break their playoff drought next season.
