Lightning & Flames Emerging as Potential Trade Partners

Blake Coleman, Flames

The Tampa Bay Lightning had another short playoff run this year, as they fell to the Montreal Canadiens in the first round in seven games. With this, the Lightning should be aggressively looking to boost their roster during the summer.

One area that the Lightning could look to improve is their middle six. Because of this, it would not be surprising if they tried to reunite with one of their former players: Blake Coleman.

With the Calgary Flames in a rebuild, Coleman has been a popular name in the rumor mill for quite some time now. It is understandable, as he is an impactful veteran forward who chips in offensively, plays a solid defensive game, and throws the body. Because of this, it would make sense if the Lightning tried to bring him back to Tampa this summer.

In 69 games during this season with the Flames, Coleman had 20 goals, 15 assists, 35 points, 152 hits, and a plus-12 rating. With numbers like these, he would be a major pickup for a Lightning club that is in need of a boost.

Due to this, keep an eye on the Lightning when it comes to Coleman this summer. This is a reunion that would make a lot of sense if it came to fruition.
