3 Trade Destinations for Predators' Steven Stamkos

Steven Stamkos, Nashville Predators

Nashville Predators forward Steven Stamkos was a trade candidate leading up to this year's deadline, and it would not be surprising if this carried over to the summer. If the Predators do listen to offers on Stamkos, he would generate plenty of interest.

Because of this, let's look at three teams that could target Stamkos this offseason.

Tampa Bay Lightning

Could the Lightning look to reunite with Stamkos this summer? After another short playoff run, the possibility should not be ruled out. They desperately need another top-six forward, and Stamkos could slot nicely on their second line if acquired because of it. The Lightning have missed Stamkos, and he could be the final piece of the puzzle that helps the Bolts go on a real playoff run next year.

Detroit Red Wings

Look out for the Red Wings when it comes to Stamkos. After failing to make the playoffs for the 10th straight year, it is clear that they should be looking to make a bold move to bolster this roster. One of the Red Wings' top needs is another top-six forward, so it would make sense if they pursued Stamkos. Whether he played center or on the wing, he would make Detroit's forward group much better.

Montreal Canadiens

Could the Canadiens take a run at Stamkos this summer? When looking at their roster, it is clear that they could use an upgrade at their second-line center position. After posting 42 goals and 66 points in 82 games this season, Stamkos would undoubtedly provide them with just that. He would also be a great mentor for the team's younger players.
