3 Free-Agent Destinations for Penguins' Stuart Skinner

Stuart Skinner, Pittsburgh Penguins

Stuart Skinner is one of the most notable pending unrestricted free agent (UFA) goalies heading into the summer. Due to this, he should generate interest from teams looking for a new goaltender if he hits the free-agent market.

Because of this, let's look at three teams that could look to sign Skinner during the offseason if he does not re-sign with the Penguins.

Florida Panthers

The Panthers are entering the offseason with two pending UFA goalies in Sergei Bobrovsky and Daniil Tarasov. If the Panthers are unable to sign or even both of them, it would be understandable if Skinner was a goalie on their radar. He would have the potential to be a decent 1B or backup goalie for Florida if signed.

Ottawa Senators

The Senators could be a team to watch when it comes to Skinner this offseason. It is no secret that they need to upgrade at the backup position, and Skinner would have the potential to be a good pickup for them because of it.

Utah Mammoth

If the Mammoth decided not to re-sign goalie Vitek Vanecek, the possibility of them targeting Skinner in free agency should not be ruled out. Skinner could form a nice tandem with Karel Vejmelka as the Mammoth look to take another step in the right direction next season.
